Corgi exclusive George Best partnership
By: Stephen Pullen
Corgi has joined forces with Sandy Arthur Training Services and the George Best Foundation to create an exciting new and exclusive Corgi Club Members model; the Scania T Topline.
The George Best Scania is exclusive to the Corgi Collector Club.
Available for just £46, Corgi will make a donation for each truck sold to the George Best Foundation.
Sandy Arthur Training Services has been operating as one of the most prestigious and successful driving schools for 26 years throughout the UK and Ireland and its involvement with the George Best Foundation resulted in the award winning lorry. The George Best Foundation aims to promote a healthier lifestyle among children and young adults through participation in sport in general and football in particular and supporting vital medical research into alcohol related illness.
Martyn Weaver, marketing manager for Corgi commented: “George Best was a legend both on and off the field and we feel privileged to be able to honour his memory. This is a great partnership and we are very proud to be involved in recreating the award-winning lorry.”
George Best’s sister, Barbara McNarry, commented: “We are thrilled to be involved in the partnership and hugely grateful to Corgi and Sandy Arthur for wanting to help raise awareness for the Foundation.”
The Corgi Collector Club is a must for all die-cast model collectors worldwide and representing various subjects including aviation, road haulage, trains, buses and motor cars. This model is only available through the Corgi Collector Club, for more information call 0844 8004095 or visit www.corgi.co.uk
